He loved drawing and sketching as soon as he was a very young boy. A self-taught artist, Sauvé tried different mediums but it’s only in 1993 that he started with oil painting and appropriated it definitively. Sauvé is a passionate of colours. This is why, in 1980, he decided to work in the printing industry; working on the press enabled him to manipulate and master the colors.Although his style is close to naive art we cannot classified his work as such. Is it because the artist is divided between his childhood and his grown-up maturity? Or because the fantasy of his imagination takes over taking life too seriously.
